Well, I feel very proud to be a Haitian American, while visiting these windows on Haiti. I recognize that there are lots of Haitians who care deeply for their country. I believe the time has come for Haiti, the nation, to be recognized, as the first Black Nation in the World to celebrate two hundred years of Freedom/Independence. This is not just a Haitian celebration, but it is for Blacks all over the world.

This is a new millenium, a special time of reconciliation between our Haitian brothers and sisters. Whether you had forgotten where you came from, felt ashamed to call yourself Haitian, changed your nationality entirely, or been in the closet for the last twenty years, the time has come to be part of History. The train is boarding. If you are not ready you are going to be left behind.

It is the duty of every Haitian abroad to get involved in some kind of activity and give back to their country what their country has given to them. The time has come for Haiti to be blessed. God did not choose Haiti to be the first Black Independent country in the World, and to be only seven hundred miles from the most powerful country in the World, and be at once "the Poorest country in the Western Hemisphere". All that didn't happen by accident. God has a plan and the time is now. Don't ask what Haiti can do for you but rather what can you can do for Haiti.

As I said before the time has come. The question is, if not us...who?; if not now...when? I say we can, we will, and we must.

God bless Haiti.
